1. Your Data, Your Ownership

At LawyersNearMe, we believe you own your data. All personal information, case documents, communications, and records you create on our Platform belong to you. We are custodians of your data, not owners.

2. Attorney Data Ownership

Attorneys retain full ownership of their client data, case files, and practice information stored on the Platform. Upon subscription cancellation, attorneys can export all data. We retain data for 90 days after cancellation before permanent deletion.

3. Client Data Ownership

Clients own all personal information, case tracking data, documents, and communications stored on the Platform. You can request a complete export of your data at any time through your account settings.

4. Data Portability

We support data portability. You can export your data in standard formats (PDF, CSV, JSON) at any time. There are no fees for data export. We will not hold your data hostage to prevent you from leaving the Platform.

5. Data Deletion

You can request deletion of your data at any time. Upon request, we will delete your data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law. After account cancellation, data is retained for 90 days (to allow for reactivation) before permanent deletion.

6. No Data Monetization

We do not sell, rent, or monetize your data. We do not use your legal case information for advertising, analytics, or any purpose other than providing Platform services to you.
